Working with Emergence

POSTPONED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER

To book, please follow this link: https://store.winchester.ac.uk/conferences-and-events/institute-for-theological-partnerships/events/working-with-emergence

Working with Emergence will be an interactive event and will begin with a keynote address by Chris Mowles, Professor of Complexity and Management at The University of Hertfordshire. He will address key questions encountered when working with Complexity and Emergence, with particular reference to how this learning can be applied in a group setting. Following the lecture Professor Chris Mowles will lead us in a large group process drawing from his training with the Institute of Group Analysis.

In the afternoon Rev Dr Terry Biddington, Dean of Spiritual Life and lecturer in Practical and Eco Theology at the University of Winchester, will give a keynote speech exploring the emergence of interiority as part of the process of cosmic evolution to show how religion is something that is unfinished and evolving much as the universe is. There will then be an opportunity to work within small facilitated groups to explore the themes of the day and consider how they can be applied practically.

The day will end with feedback from the groups.

The day is a stand-alone event and you do not have to have attended the November event in order to participate, however it also forms part of a series of events hosted by the University of Winchester based on spiritually inspired training offered by Spirit of Peace.

Refreshments: Tea and coffee will be provided in the morning and afternoon, please bring your own lunch or you can purchase light snacks from CyberItalia Café on Campus.

Parking: Car parking is available on Campus, please contact Joanna.Wilson@winchester.ac.uk for a permit.

Venue Information: The St Alphege Building is located at the King Alfred’s Campus, University of Winchester on Sparkford Road, SO22 4NR. Labelled no. 16 on this Campus map.

Because this event is taking place on a Saturday, there will be limited parking available on campus, however Winchester is easily accessible by train from London, Southampton and Portsmouth with the Campus only a 15 minute walk from the station. A taxi costs around £6 and if anyone would like to share a taxi, or walk in a group, this can be co-ordinated. Please contact petragriffiths@livingspirit.org.uk to make arrangements.

If you have any queries or require any further information about the event please contact Joanna.Wilson@Winchester.ac.uk
